Beautiful Lake Seminole is a 37,500 acre lake located on the Georgia, Florida and Alabama borders. It is rich with history with Fort Scott being located on the bluffs above the Flint River and Camp Recovery around the corner on the south side.
It is where the very first B.A.S.S. tournament was held in a collaboration between the famous Ray Scott and Jack Wingate and is considered one of the top Bass Fishing lakes in the nation.
The lake was created in 1958 when the Army Corps of Engineers filled in the area between the banks of the Flint River, the Chattahoochee River and Spring Creek, all tributaries to Lake Seminole. The three rivers come together at the Jim Woodruff dam to create the Apalachicola River which flows to the Gulf of Mexico.
Lake Seminole is an ecological wonderland with deep swamps, natural springs and some of the rarest plants and animals on the planet. It is enjoyed by many fishermen, hunters, boaters and other outdoor enthusiasts.
